This year a great Aussie icon turns 75. From humble beginnings as a water heater company founded in Sydney 1947, Zip Water’s 75th anniversary is a true testament to its commitment to innovation and manufacturing here in Australia.
Throughout its history, Zip has produced a number of world-first innovations, such as the on-wall instant boiling water system, which made its first appearance in office tea rooms in 1975.
Driven by the desire to deliver “Water at its Best”, Zip continued to innovate with the launch of the HydroTap under bench instant boiling water system, the first-ever sparkling water tap, and most recently the launch of its fifth generation HydroTap, which features contactless controls.
Zip Water is a success story of Australian design, innovation and local manufacturing.
It has elevated the convenience of chilled, filtered and sparkling water at the touch of button to an art form, becoming the global symbol of drinking water innovation. Today, the iconic design-award-winning appliances are sought after globally for workplaces and homes.
Zip was recognised in 2021 by The Australian Financial Review and Boss Magazine, achieving fifth ranking on the AFR Boss Most Innovative Companies list for Manufacturing and Consumer Goods.
President of Zip International, John Doumani said that it was a combination of factors that were crucial to the success of Zip.

A brand refresh celebrating 75 years of business
To further celebrate the 75th anniversary and set the tone for the future of the company, Zip will be rolling out refreshed branding over the next 12 months. The refresh will incorporate the hallmark Zip red, combined with a sleek and modern logo that reflects the modernity of the company. The new logo will be integrated into the ‘Water at its Best’ campaign and across all consumer touchpoints.
