
Westpac has announced the appointment of Kate Dee as its new Chief People Officer, with plans for her to assume the role later this year.
Dee will report directly to Westpac CEO Anthony Miller, the company said in a media release.
Currently serving as Chief People Officer at Bupa Asia Pacific, Dee brings extensive experience in leading people and culture teams across various industries.
She has held key roles at NAB as General Manager, Talent, and at Time Warner in London as Executive Director, Global Organisation and Leadership Development.
A New Zealand national, she is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development (CIPD) in the United Kingdom and holds degrees in Psychology and German from Victoria University.
Westpac CEO Anthony Miller highlighted Ms Dee’s leadership credentials and their alignment with the bank’s goals.
“Kate is a highly accomplished leader who has successfully steered people and culture teams in a range of industries around the world. She will be a great addition to the Westpac group executive,” Miller said.
He also emphasised the role of Westpac’s workforce in shaping the organisation’s future. “At Westpac, we have 35,000 wonderful people, and we are on a mission to make this the best place to work. Kate will help us reach that goal,” he stated.
