Visy, Australia’s largest integrated recycler and remanufacturer, has launched its inaugural retail product today: Visy Tread, an Australian-made temporary floor and surface protection solution.
Crafted from 100 per cent recycled paper, Visy Tread said it facilitates easy recycling through Australian kerbside bins.
Manufactured locally at Visy’s plants in Reservoir and Coolaroo, Melbourne, this marks the company’s debut in direct-to-consumer retail offerings, the company said in a media release.
Rod Sutton, Visy’s general manager of Consumer Products, highlighted Visy Tread as a boon for tradespeople and home renovators seeking both protection for their premises and a sustainable choice.
“Visy Tread has all sites and surfaces covered, plus it’s made from 100% recycled paper, that you can easily recycle when you’re finished,” Sutton explained.
“It is easy to use and performs well for all sorts of jobs—from industrial work sites to odd-jobs at home,” he added.
By utilising locally sourced materials and manufacturing processes, Visysaid it aims to bolster local job opportunities and reduce dependence on single-use plastics.
The Visy Tread lineup comprises Heavy Duty Surface Protection for extensive construction and renovation projects and Builders Temporary Surface Protection for smaller-scale tasks and relocations.
Visy Tread safeguards surfaces against spills, stains, and scratches during construction, renovation, and DIY endeavors.
This initiative follows Visy’s recent introduction of recyclable paper bags for retailers, another Australian-manufactured alternative to single-use plastic bags.
