AML3D announced the commissioning and operational status of the ARCEMY ‘X-Edition 6700’ Wire-Arc Additive Manufacturing (WAM) metal 3D printing system (ARCEMY X) at Cogitic Corporation.

This major milestone follows the order placed on 6 November 2023, valued at approximately AUD 2.5 million (USD 1.6 million), and involves staged payments aligned with delivery and installation milestones.

The testing and installation were completed in June 2024, and the final commissioning in late July 2024 triggers the remaining 50 per cent payment of the order, AML3D said in a media release.

Cogitic, a critical supplier to the US Navy’s Submarine Industrial Base, specialises in producing complex parts and assemblies essential for “cannot fail” applications within marine defence and related industries.

“The successful commissioning of this Cogitic ARCEMY® X system advances a key objective of AML3D’s US scale up strategy,” said Sean Ebert, managing director of AML3D.

He added, “Embedding our WAM technology in the supply chains for the US defence industry and in particular US Navy’s submarine industrial base. AML3D recently established a US Headquarters and manufacturing hub, in Ohio, to maximise opportunities for ARCEMY system and component manufacturing and testing sales to the US defence sector.”

AML3D has recently established its US headquarters and manufacturing hub in Ohio to maximise opportunities for ARCEMY system and component manufacturing, and to drive sales within the US defence sector.

According to the ASX-listed company, the strategic location aims to enhance the company’s footprint and capabilities in the US market.

“AML3D’s US scale up strategy includes expanding beyond the US Defense sector to supply advanced manufacturing and metal 3D printing solutions to US based, global Tier 1 Oil and Gas, Marine and Aerospace companies,” Ebert continued.

“Alongside supporting the US Defense sector, Cogitic is also a key supplier to other industries. AML3D is keen to build on its existing commercial relationship with Cogitic to explore the provision of AML3D’s advanced manufacturing solutions to the benefit of Cogitic’s broader client base, as we advanced our strategy to support Tier 1 US corporates,” Ebert concluded.
