Additive manufacturing specialist Titomic has reached an agreement to acquire the assets of US-based start-up Tri-D Dynamics Inc (Tri-D).
Based in the Silicon Valley, California, Tri-D is a design and manufacturing company that aims to upgrade and electrify infrastructure by embedding electronics directly into metal structures to outfit them with digitally connected technology.
Following completion of the acquisition, Tri-D will operate as Titomic USA, a wholly owned subsidiary of Titomic.
Under the agreement, Tri-D founders Deepak Atyam, Alex Finch and Jesse Lang will join Titomic USA as key employees, focusing on the company’s initiatives in the defence, aerospace as well as the oil and gas industries.
Norbert Schulze, Interim CEO of Titomic, said Tri-D’s acquisition was in line with Titomic’s strategy to stay ahead as a global solutions leader in additive manufacturing, complementing both its Melbourne base and recently announced UK joint venture with Neos International.
“We are delighted to welcome Deepak, Alex and Jesse to the Titomic team,” Mr Schulze continued.
“The acquisition of the Tri-D business is an important part of our US market strategy and will add Silicon-Valley innovation and dynamics to develop novel and disruptive applications in line with our growth strategy.”
