Australian metal additive manufacturing company Titomic has sealed an equipment sale valued at EUR 300,000 (AUD 495,000) with Fundación Centro Tecnológico Miranda de Ebro (CTME), a prominent Spanish technology centre and engineering solutions provider.
The purchase marks a strategic investment by CTME to enhance its proficiency in researching, developing, and integrating advanced manufacturing technologies for critical sectors such as aerospace, defence, and automotive, Titomic said in an ASX announcement.
The acquisition of Titomic’s cold spray systems also equips CTME with specialised utility in low and medium-pressure cold spray processes, revolutionising its capabilities.
In particular, the sale includes Titomic’s D623 medium-pressure and D523 low-pressure cold spray systems, accompanied by a powder feeder and an Integrated Spray Booth.
Notably, the Integrated Spray Booth boasts dust suction and an XYZ robot for precise manipulation of the spray head, ensuring seamless transitions between the D523 and D623 systems based on specific application requirements.
By adopting this 3-in-1 system configuration, CTME enhances operational flexibility, empowering it to leverage the distinct capabilities of each system within a unified, integrated environment.
This setup broadens CTME’s operational scope, facilitating the concurrent provision of diverse cold spray applications.
This purchase is also associated with CTME’s participation in the SURFERA-PLUS project, financed by the Centre for Industrial Technological Development through the Spanish Ministry of Science and Innovation.
CTME’s receipt of a grant for Excellence Technological Centres underscores the project’s significance and CTME’s commitment to innovation.
The transaction underscores Titomic’s ongoing global expansion and reflects the increasing demand for its advanced manufacturing solutions.
Titomic remains dedicated to meeting this demand and equipping innovative companies worldwide with the tools to maintain their competitiveness.
Herbert Koeck, managing director of Titomic, expressed confidence in the transaction, stating, “This transaction with CTME is a testament to the demand for Titomic’s cutting-edge cold spray technology in the global market.”
He continued, “By equipping CTME with Titomic’s advanced systems, we are enabling CTME to remain at the forefront of manufacturing innovation, offering their clients unparalleled quality and efficiency.”
Meanwhile, Juan José García Ruiz, director of CTME, echoed Koeck’s sentiments, emphasising the transformative impact of integrating Titomic’s advanced cold spray technology into CTME’s operations.
“It aligns perfectly with our mission to continually seek out and implement the latest technologies to offer our clients the most innovative solutions,” Ruiz commented.
