Titomic boosts OMIC R&D’s manufacturing with advanced cold spray tech

Titomic Limited announced the USD 790,000 (AUD 1.2 million) sale of a custom high-pressure cold spray system to Oregon Manufacturing Innovation Center (OMIC R&D).

OMIC R&D, renowned for its advanced metals manufacturing prowess and servicing giants like Sandvik Coromant, Boeing, and Daimler, stands to bolster its additive manufacturing capabilities with this acquisition, the firm said in an ASX announcement.

“OMIC R&D aims to be the first centre in the United States dedicated to supporting industry adoption of additive manufacturing in an economically sustainable manner,” said OMIC R&D’s Business Development Manager Joshua Koch.

He emphasised that by consolidating diverse industrial additive manufacturing equipment, OMIC R&D aims to tackle current technology integration challenges and reservations among manufacturers.

Meanwhile, Titomic’s Managing Director Herbert Koeck, expressed enthusiasm about penetrating the US aerospace and defence sectors through OMIC R&D.

“At Titomic, we’re excited about the progress being made with key players in the U.S. aerospace and defence sectors, including OMIC, a leading commercial R&D company advising major US aerospace and defence primes,” he noted.

He further remarked, “After years of diligent work and testing, Titomic is now developing scalable commercial opportunities and establishing key relationships in an industry experiencing significant global investment from both government and private sectors. Our journey has just begun.”
