Three South Australian companies have become the latest recipients of assistance from the $4.5 million Business Transformation Voucher aimed at helping eligible manufacturers grow and diversify production in order to continue to support jobs in the state.
The vouchers, which are worth up to $50,000 each, have been awarded to a fruit and vegetable wholesaler, a stone bench top maker and a salad packager, as part of the second round of the Business Transformation Voucher program.
The three companies which will share $135,000 worth of vouchers are:
- $50,000 to Bowe Pty Ltd, a wholesale to the food service industry. The voucher will allow PM Precision to conduct a review of the business to determine the best way to unload and sort raw materials to minimise waste and damage.
- $50,000 to IPC Granite Pty Ltd, a manufacturer and installer of stone bench tops. The voucher will fund a detailed review of analysis of its manufacturing process by Sage Automation Pty Ltd including tests of new cost-cutting, high-tech equipment.
- $35,000 to Sunfresh Salads, a family-owned food manufacturing business that provides pre-packaged and bulk salads to the retail and food service industry. The voucher will allow Manufacturing Focus review and analyse a proposed upgrade of its Mawson Lakes facility.
“Transforming a business is a daunting task for many small manufacturers,” said Manufacturing and Innovation Minister Susan Close upon announcing the voucher recipients.
“This voucher program allows them to seek expert advice on how best to make the most out of their work place.”
Funded from the $60.1 million Our Jobs Plan, eligible manufacturing firms can use the Business Transformation Vouchers to engage outside experts to assist in areas such as:
REVIEW and identification of business/manufacturing process improvements; MARKETING and brand strategy; BUSINESS model development; MANAGEMENT training/mentoring; and EXPORT readiness.
