New Zealand Steel is set to build a new $300 million (AUD 283 million) Electric Arc Furnace at its steelworks at Glenbrook within the next three years as part of the move to lower the country’s greenhouse gas emissions.

Australian steelmaker BlueScope Steel has increased its earnings guidance for the second half of fiscal year 2023 to be in the range of $700 million to $770 million.
