The latest iLAuNCH Trailblazer project is embarking on a groundbreaking initiative to utilise additive manufacturing technology in the development of large-scale carbon composite structures for rockets.

In a collaborative effort spearheaded by the University of South Australia (UniSA), with industry partners VPG Innovation and SMR Australia, a project is underway to revolutionise optical components for Earth observation through additive manufacturing.

Researchers at the University of Southern Queensland (UniSQ) are embarking on an initiative to explore the application of digital twin technology, particularly focusing on composite materials, to redefine aircraft repair for the next generation.

The iLAuNCH Trailblazer is vetting Space Machines Company’s Optimus OSV Spacecraft, the largest single Australian-made commercial space transport and servicing platform, before it heads into orbit in early 2024. 

The iLAuNCH Trailblazer program has issued a call for Expressions of Interest for funding that will support aerospace-related projects underway in areas ranging from satellite materials to spacecraft heaters. 

A new advanced manufacturing facility that will build more durable satellites and hypersonic structures is underway in Adelaide as part of the first Innovative Launch, Automation, Novel Materials, Communications and Hypersonics (iLAuNCH) Trailblazer project. 

Adelaide-based clean energy technology company entX is set to change the landscape of sustainable energy solutions that will power future space missions through a new partnership between iLAuNCH Trailblazer universities, the University of South Australia (UniSA) and the University of Southern Queensland (UniSQ).
