The University of Sydney has welcomed Australia’s first National Quantum Strategy launched today by Minister for Industry and Science Ed Husic and Australia’s Chief Scientist Dr Cathy Foley.

The new ARC Research Hub for Resilient and Intelligent Infrastructure Systems (RIIS) has opened at UNSW Sydney, intending to improve infrastructure systems in the urban, energy, and resources sectors.

UNSW Sydney researchers have secured $3.7 million from the Australian Research Council’s (ARC) new Mid-Career Industry Fellowships program, augmented by a further $1.8 million from participating industry partners, with enabling the manufacturing of scalable quantum processors as one of its objectives.

Western Sydney University academics have been awarded ARC grants totalling $1,351,506 through the Australian Research Council’s Linkage Program. 

Established as the Australian Research Council’s Training Centre for Collaborative Robotics in Advanced Manufacturing, the facility will focus on the implementation of cobotics with research programs addressing both technological advances and human and design factors needed when implementing new technology.
