London-based 3D printing company 3DPRINTUK has been acquired by Solid Solutions and will become part of the TriMech Group in a push to bolster the latter’s design and production services.
Under the deal, 3DPRINTUK will maintain business as usual with its current management and staff and will serve as the dedicated 3D printing service team for the TriMech Group in the UK.
Following the acquisition, 3DPRINTUK claims that by utilising the capabilities of a larger company, its service offering for additive manufacturing will be “significantly augmented.”
Nick Allen, CEO at 3DPRINTUK, expressed his excitement about the acquisition, emphasising the team has committed more than a decade to providing service to its customers.
“Throughout the years, we’ve grown organically, expanded our range of services, remained cost-competitive, and set a high standard for the quality of our 3D printed parts,” Allen said.
He also underscored that joining forces with Solid Solutions is the logical next step, as it will accelerate the bureau’s growth potential, as well as widen and improve its services for customers.
Meanwhile, Alan Sampson, TriMech’s Group CEO, stated that Solid Solutions’ acquisition of 3DPRINTUK illustrates that the company’s overarching goal since the TriMech acquisition has been to grow and diversify service offerings.
“Adding 3DPRINTUK alongside other sympathetic acquisitions enhances our ability to always bring the right mix of tools to the job,” Sampson remarked.
Sampson also pointed out the move aligns with Solid Solutions’ mission of providing service and remaining its customers’ go-to resource for 3D printing ventures.
“We all feel very comfortable that working with Solid Solutions helps us to achieve our goals for our customers efficiently and timely,” he added.
Founded in 2011, 3DPRINTUK is a specialist in low-volume production using SLS (selective laser sintering) and MJF (multi-jet fusion) additive manufacturing (AM) systems, along with a range of post-processing capabilities.
The company said it bridges the gap between prototype and injection moulding for clients spanning a range of sectors, from consumer products to marine and aerospace.
Solid Solutions is a UK-based technology and business solution partner for design engineers and manufacturers, which was acquired by TriMech in 2022.
