Australian gas producer Senex Energy and cement manufacturer Adbri Limited have inked a long-term gas sales agreement under which Senex will supply up to 11 petajoules (PJ) of natural gas to power Adbri’s South Australian manufacturing operations.
The seven year-agreement, which commences January 2023, will see Senex supply natural gas to Adbri at the Moomba Gas Hub at a fixed price, in line with current market levels.
Senex Managing Director and CEO Ian Davies said the company was delighted to welcome Adbri as a new long-term customer into its growing portfolio of leading manufacturers and power generators.
“We look forward to building another strong and mutually beneficial relationship that supports jobs, the economy and helps meet Australia’s energy demand as it transitions to a lower carbon future,” Mr Davies added.
Adbri CEO Nick Miller said the new gas supply agreement with Senex “helps underpin” the company’s low-cost and low-carbon cement manufacturing operations in South Australia, whilst also supporting the economy and local jobs.

Adbri, which aspires to achieve net zero carbon emissions by 2050, manufactures cement, lime, concrete, aggregates, concrete products and industrial minerals at over 160 facilities across Australia, providing employment for more than 1,600 people.
