RØDE’s NTR ribbon microphone wins Red Dot “Best of the Best” Award for Product Design: 2015

RØDE Microphones has announced that its NTR ribbon microphone has won the Red Dot “Best of the Best” Award for Product Design: 2015.

“We are very privileged to be awarded with the honourable distinction of “Red Dot: Best of the Best” from the most prestigious product design award in the world. The NTR is a result of uncompromised product design and engineering, with a huge amount love and effort from the designers, engineers and the entire RØDE team,” commented Sun Kyung Sunwoo, Lead Project Design Manager at RØDE.

The Red Dot Awards is the largest and most recognised product design competition in the world, that evaluates products based on functionality, durability, ergonomics, formal quality, ecological compatibility and degree of innovation.

“The care taken by our jury members, who are bound by a strict Code of Honour, is well known. Winners of the Red Dot have shown uncompromising competency and considerable courage, and have measured themselves successfully against the best of the industry,” said Professor Dr Peter Zec, Founder and President of Red Dot.

Unveiled two months ago at an exclusive event in San Diego, USA, the NTR ribbon microphone was designed and created in-house at the company’s manufacturing facility in Sydney.
