Rockwell Automation is set to debut its Emulate3D Factory Test capabilities at NVIDIA GTC 2025, marking the first public showcase of the company’s latest advancement in factory-scale virtual controls testing.
Designed to help manufacturers conduct Factory Acceptance Testing, the solution enables the validation of automation systems before deployment, the company said in a news release.
Rockwell said its new offering integrates with NVIDIA Omniverse APIs and OpenUSD, providing high-fidelity simulation and real-time collaboration.
Matheus Bulho, senior vice president of software and control at Rockwell Automation, emphasized the transformative potential of the technology.
“With the launch of Emulate3D Factory Test, we’re delivering an innovative solution that allows engineering teams to test, iterate, and validate automation systems at full factory scale. By leveraging the power of NVIDIA Omniverse, we are enabling unprecedented visualization and collaboration capabilities that drive efficiency and performance,” Bulho stated.
As a global leader in industrial automation, Rockwell Automation said it developed Factory Test to address limitations in traditional simulation tools, which often struggle to model complex factory environments accurately.
The new solution employs a modular modeling approach that synchronizes mechanical, electrical, controls, process, robotics, and device behavior models into a unified digital twin, further demonstrating Rockwell Automation’s commitment to innovation.
The Emulate3D Factory Test introduces several key capabilities, including multi-model orchestration for synchronized system testing, modern DevOps workflows that ensure real-time collaboration and version control, a Test Runner feature for repeatable automated testing, and a Fault Framework for simulating system resilience.
Advanced full-factory visualization, powered by NVIDIA Omniverse APIs, will be available via private preview, reinforcing Rockwell Automation’s dedication to cutting-edge technology integration.
Brian Harrison, senior director of Omniverse Digital Twins at NVIDIA, highlighted Rockwell Automation’s role in advancing industrial automation.
“With Emulate3D Factory Test, Rockwell Automation is integrating Omniverse technologies and OpenUSD to bring next-generation digital twins to the industrial sector, helping teams simulate, validate, and optimize complex manufacturing systems at an unprecedented scale,” Harrison said.
Rockwell Automation experts will present a session titled “Exploring Factory-Scale Digital Twin Simulation with Rockwell Automation” on 20 March at NVIDIA GTC 2025 in San Jose, California. This event follows the company’s November 2024 announcement of its collaboration with NVIDIA to enhance industrial automation through AI and physics-based simulation.
