Australian composites manufacturer Quickstep Holdings has sealed a $105 million multi-year firm order from Northrop Grumman for the supply of F-35 centre fuselage components.
The order relates to lots 15 through 17, which will be supplied under a new six-year agreement covering the production of lots 15 through 20.
Under the finalised contract, the order’s value could increase to $281.2 million in total should lots 18 to 10 be confirmed in due course.
Work will be performed at Quickstep’s Aerostructures site in Bankstown, New South Wales, and is expected to be completed in 2025.
Mark Burgess, managing director and CEO at Quickstep, said the latest firm order secures Quickstep’s Northrop Grumman F-35 order book through 2025 and is “a great example of the value Australian industry delivers to the world’s largest defence aerospace program.
“This follows recent purchase orders from Marand Precision Engineering for production of F-35 vertical tail components for lots 15 and 16 valued at $32.99 million under the existing agreement with this customer,” Burgess added.
