Forty-three companies, including those in the manufacturing and advanced materials industry, have been selected as finalists for the Premier of Queensland’s Export Awards 2023.

The event is in its 33rd year of recognising Queensland-based businesses that strive to grow and expand their global footprints.

“These annual awards recognise and celebrate Queensland’s exporters expanding and innovating internationally,” said Premier Annastacia Palaszczuk. “Queensland exports high-quality products and services to every corner of the globe, known for their ingenuity, creativity and passion.”

Premier Palaszczuk and Treasurer and Minister for Trade and Investment Cameron Dick unveiled the finalists, which include Queensland manufacturing business Frosty Boy. The company ships products to 65 countries and regions, including high-growth markets like the Philippines, Malaysia, the Middle East, India, Korea, the USA, and Vietnam.

“It’s important that the dedication and ingenuity of Queensland’s export businesses is recognised through these awards,” Minister Dick said. “We want to help Queensland businesses navigate complex overseas markets and make it easier for them to go global to reach more customers.”

In 2022–23, Queensland’s export industry was estimated to be valued at a$140 billion and supports one of five jobs in the state.

Winners of the Queensland Export Awards 2023 will be announced at a gala dinner at the Brisbane Exhibition and Convention Centre on 18 October. They will represent Queensland at the national titles in Canberra in November.

Finalists for the Queensland Export Awards include advanced technologies companies Chronosoft, Elexon Mining, Healthcare Logic, Helitak Fire Fighting Equipment, and UBX Boxing + Strength.

In addition to Frosty Boy Global, the full list of finalists also included manufacturing and advanced materials companies Helitak Fire Fighting Equipment, National Plastics & Rubber Pty Ltd, Plungie, and Simtech.
