Volgren Queensland has delivered its 2000th locally built bus, marking a major milestone for the company’s Eagle Farm manufacturing facility in Brisbane.
Since opening in 2009, the site has played a key role in bus production for the region, including delivering more than 1,000 buses to Brisbane City Council and setting a record in 2024 with over 180 buses produced, Volgren wrote in a LinkedIn post.
The delivery of the 2000th bus was commemorated at a special event attended by Volgren’s senior management team and representatives from Volvo Buses, the Department of Transport and Main Roads, the Queensland Bus Industry Council, and Kangaroo Bus Lines, which received the milestone vehicle.
As part of the celebration, Volgren’s CEO presented a special plaque and key to Kangaroo Bus Lines in recognition of their role in the achievement.
The event concluded with a lighthearted moment as attendees cut a bus-shaped cake, modeled after the 2000th bus.
Volgren CEO Thiago Deiro described the occasion as a reflection of the company’s long-standing commitment to quality and innovation in bus manufacturing.

Volgren Chief Commercial Officer Yuri Tessari acknowledged the importance of industry partnerships in the company’s growth.
