Polestar (Nasdaq: PSNY), the Swedish electric performance car brand, presented The Circle Awards 2022 AUS & NZ in Sydney this week, which recognised local businesses, organisations, projects, and people making a positive environmental and social impact.
The event highlighted enterprising brands across 14 categories with winners including Forkful, helping hospitality venues sell their surplus food and reduce food wastage, Dust & Glow, waterless beauty solutions, and Releaseit, a rental marketplace reducing landfill.
The Judges’ Choice accolade was awarded to Sustainable Salons, a comprehensive resource recovery program designed for the salon environment.
Given Polestar’s own mission to accelerate the shift to a fully electric, climate-neutral future, The Circle Awards AUS & NZ 2022 was the ideal platform to celebrate like-minded organisations.
“Polestar was inspired by the efforts of The Circle Awards program to foster and invest in both businesses and individuals looking to effect meaningful change in the business landscape of Australia and New Zealand,” says Samantha Johnson, Head of Polestar Australia.
“As a judge, I would like to personally congratulate all the category nominees and award winners. Your ingenuity and passion for environmental innovation is to be applauded, and we wish you all the best on your sustainable journeys,” she added.
Founder of The Circle Awards, Nick Hoskin, believes the quality of entrants signals a shift in the mindset of Australian and New Zealand businesses.
“While this is only the second year of The Circle Awards, we’ve already managed to uncover and support the work of some incredible businesses both in Australia and New Zealand making a positive impact,” says Nick Hoskin, founder of The Circle Awards.
“Having Polestar on board as a presenting partner at such an early stage in the Awards signals to us that what we, and more importantly, what our entrants are doing, truly matters and that together we can journey towards creating a brighter future.”
Companies awarded in the Circle Awards AUS & NZ in 2022 will have access to exclusive mentorship from industry leaders and access to executive team training workshops.
Past winners have included The Very Good Bra, the world’s first zero waste and circular economy bra, Good 360, creating an online marketplace for businesses to donate surplus non-food goods to charities and schools, and The Swag, the world’s first 100% natural produce bag that keeps fruit and vegetables crisp in the fridge for longer.
