Expressions of interest are now being accepted for emerging food and beverage manufacturers across New South Wales (NSW) to display their products at Fine Food Australia, the trade event for the food industry in the southern hemisphere.

Katie Knight, deputy secretary of Investment NSW, announced that subsidies totalling $6,000 each are up for grabs to support up to 12 NSW businesses in attending the tradeshow and exhibiting within the Flavours of NSW zone at the Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre from 2 to 5 September 2024.

“Exhibiting at Fine Food Australia is a great opportunity for up-and-coming food and beverage makers to connect with key players in the industry and take their businesses to the next level,” stated Knight.

“Thousands of industry representatives will be in attendance, including suppliers, distributors and retail and hospitality businesses, making this an unrivalled event for manufacturers looking to grow domestically and in new international markets,” she added.

In particular, the success story of The KIND Coffee Co, based in South Murwillumbah, underscores the potential impact of participating in Fine Food Australia.

Co-founder Jules Gardner attested that last year’s event was transformative for their business, facilitating significant expansion opportunities.

“Fine Food Australia provided a great platform to showcase our canned coffee products. As a result, in the past year we’ve sourced distributors to support our growth all over Australia,” Gardner revealed.

She continued, “We also have a contract manufacturer on board and are looking at exporting our products to the Middle East – all as a direct result of contacts we made at last year’s event.”

The Fine Food Australia tradeshow alternates between Sydney and Melbourne each year.

Alongside the subsidy, selected businesses will benefit from a pre-event workshop featuring expert advice on exhibiting, exporting, and insights into domestic and international food and beverage markets.

NSW Government business support experts will also be available before, during, and after the tradeshow to provide assistance.

Expressions of interest will be accepted until 5 pm AEST on Friday, 26 April 2024.
