Industry and employment minister Ben Carroll has announced the opening of nominations for the 2018 Victorian Manufacturing Hall of Fame Awards, themed ‘Advancing Victorian Manufacturing’.
Making the announcement, Mr Carroll said the 2018 edition will feature a new award, Woman Manufacturer of the Year, to recognise outstanding women working in the manufacturing industry.
According to the Minister, awards will also be given to companies operating in high growth manufacturing sector including transport, defence and construction technologies; medical technology and pharmaceuticals; new energy technologies; and food and fibre.
“I’m proud that this year’s awards feature the new Woman Manufacturer of the Year award, recognising all of the women in the sector breaking down barriers and succeeding in their careers,” Mr Carroll said.
“These awards are all about celebrating advanced manufacturing – I strongly encourage manufacturers to nominate and showcase their talents.”
Nominations for the awards close on 7 March, with winners to be announced at the 2018 Victorian Manufacturing Hall of Fame Gala Dinner in May.
