The company tasked chocolatier Mark Jones to produce the Nokia logo using 3D printing technology, chocolate “ink” and the custom 3D printer Choc Creator V1.

According to the article on 3ders, the Choc Creator V1 is the first commercial desktop 3D chocolate printer in the world that is available for everyday consumers around the world for just about £2888/$4800.

The printer uses Fused Deposition Modelling (FDM) to dispose the material- in this case, chocolate- through a nozzle that is heated. The process of disposal is conducted layer by layer, thus creating a printed shape.

In the case of Nokia’s #Chokia, the printer printed out layers of chocolate that were 0.5mm to 1.5mm thick. Thanks to the customization options, users can create whatever shape they want.
