Additive manufacturing company Nano Dimension has inaugurated its new European headquarters in Munich, Germany to advance its commercial and research and development, as announced in a news release.

The Massachusetts-based company said this latest development adds to its existing strongholds in the United States, the United Kingdom, Switzerland, the Netherlands, Australia, and Israel.

Nano Dimension revealed that Munich was selected due to its position as a centre of manufacturing and technology for Germany and the continent of Europe.

With so many current and potential clients close by, Nano Dimension said it will be able to offer unsurpassed service and responsiveness.

The company also expects to make significant progress in Advanced Material R&D, owing to the presence of leading research institutions, materials companies, and a strong industrial and technology workforce in Munich and the state of Bavaria.

Herr Hubert Aiwanger,  the State of Bavaria’s Minister of Economic Affairs, commented on the inauguration, explaining that the fusion of electronics production and 3D printing is ideal for Bavaria’s high-tech agenda.

The Minister further noted that Bavaria wants to improve its position, particularly in the microelectronics sector, so the production and expertise in the field of microelectronics can be partially brought back to the state thanks to this technology.

Meanwhile, Ziki Peled, president of Nano Dimension EMEA, stated that the company has always placed a strategic emphasis on Germany.

“This city and region are at the forefront of two aspects that define Nano Dimension – technology and manufacturing. We look forward to being even closer to the people we work with already and hope to work more with in the future,” the president noted.

Founded in 2012, Nano Dimension said its goal is to transform current electronics and mechanical manufacturing into Industry 4.0 environmentally friendly and economically efficient precision additive electronics and manufacturing.

The deep learning-based AI used by Nano Dimension is used to improve manufacturing capacities through the use of self-learning and self-improving systems, as well as the cloud-based management of a distributed manufacturing network, the company said.

The business also creates 3D printers, consumable materials, and additive manufacturing and additive electronics systems.
