Moorabbin business Point Trading has secured a $7.4 million contract with Leidos Australia to deliver world-class chemical detection equipment for the Australian Defence Force.
The awarding of the contract follows the announcement Cairns-based company J3Seven will work with Leidos to deliver radiation detectors and incident response kits.
In making the announcement, Defence Industry Minister Melissa Price said Leidos is partnering with both companies to provide the Chemical, Biological, Radiological and Nuclear Defence equipment capability to the ADF.
“This is a great investment in the Australian defence industry, and proves we are producing world-class capabilities right here at home,” Minister Price said.
“Point Trading will support the delivery of this critical capability to protect our soldiers from chemical threats on the battlefield.
“The record $200 billion investment we’re making in Australia’s defence industry is continuing to deliver jobs and more opportunities for small businesses like Point Trading right across Australia.”
