Lockheed Martin has announced the formal commencement of retired Air Vice-Marshal Steven ‘Zed’ Roberton DSC AM as Chief Executive for Australia and New Zealand.

Roberton succeeds Warren ‘Macca’ McDonald, who is retiring after a distinguished career marked by transformative contributions to the company’s regional operations.

The leadership transition follows a structured handover period, with Roberton now reporting to Ray Piselli, Lockheed Martin’s Vice President of International Business.

Piselli expressed confidence in Roberton’s leadership and acknowledged the foundation laid by McDonald.

“Steve’s decades of service in the Royal Australian Air Force, combined with his deep expertise in defence capabilities, position him to drive continued success in delivering world-class solutions for our customers in Australia and New Zealand,” Piselli stated.

“I also want to extend my gratitude to Macca for his exceptional leadership, which has seen Lockheed Martin achieve significant milestones across several key defence initiatives including AIR6500-1, SouthPAN, and the Guided Weapons and Explosive Ordnance Enterprise.”

Roberton, a veteran of Australia’s defence forces, brings extensive experience in leadership and strategic defence operations to his new role.

“I am honoured to lead Lockheed Martin’s efforts in Australia and New Zealand, regions that are pivotal to our global operations,” said Roberton.

“My focus will be on collaborating closely with our customers, industry partners and stakeholders to deliver and sustain the advanced capabilities necessary to address the complex security challenges and strategic defence priorities of Australia and New Zealand,” he concluded.
