Cutting-edge technologies, processes and systems will be on show this week at manufacturing businesses around the state with the Palaszczuk Government’s Inside Advanced Manufacturing series kicking off today.
Minister for State Development, Manufacturing, Infrastructure and Planning Cameron Dick said the week-long program shines a light on Queensland’s innovation success stories and the manufacturers of the future.
“Inside Advanced Manufacturing celebrates advanced manufacturing and innovation across Queensland and gives local manufacturers the chance to tour state-of-the-art facilities, gain insights and develop new industry connections,” Mr Dick said.
“I’m thrilled to see the series start at Evolve Group, an award-winning design and manufacturing company operating in my electorate of Woodridge.
“Evolve are putting Queensland on the global manufacturing map with their highly innovative products, so it’s fantastic other local operators have the opportunity to gain knowledge from an industry leader like them.
“The Palaszczuk Government is pleased to support our manufacturers and we’re excited to promote some of our state’s success stories, for the benefit of the sector and the goal of a stronger economy.”
Evolve Group Managing Director Ty Hermans said the company was proud to take part in Inside Advanced Manufacturing.
“Evolve specialises in designing and manufacturing high-quality products for some amazing domestic and global clients,” Mr Hermans said.
“It’s a great feeling to be featured in this program and a reflection of the hard work we have put towards being innovative and adopting advanced manufacturing processes and design thinking into everything we do.
“The collaboration of award-winning design and highly advanced automated systems has enabled Evolve to successfully reshore manufacturing back to Queensland.
“This has allowed us to retain, retrain and grow our number of employees in high-value knowledge-based jobs.”
Mr Dick said the Palaszczuk Government’s Advanced Manufacturing 10-Year Roadmap and Action Plan is being delivered in partnership with industry to help transform Queensland’s manufacturing industry.
“Manufacturing is the sixth largest employer in Queensland and adds significant value to our economy, contributing more than $20 billion per year,” he said.
“That’s why we are invested in supporting and growing this priority sector, because it means more jobs for our state.”
