Queensland Manufacturing Minister Glenn Butcher today inspected the capabilities of Rockhampton-based business, All Industries Group, and announced that registrations are now open for the annual Inside Advanced Manufacturing event.
This event is part of the Miles Government’s Queensland Manufacturing Month, showcasing the state’s commitment to bolstering the manufacturing sector.
From 2 to 13 September, leading advanced manufacturers across Queensland will open their doors to demonstrate their industry-leading technologies.
This state-wide event aims to support Queensland manufacturers in becoming globally competitive, the government said in a media statement.
“Inside Advanced Manufacturing celebrates the best of our industry across the state, showcasing the innovations that are helping businesses thrive and cementing Queensland’s reputation as a manufacturing powerhouse,” said Minister Butcher.
The event will feature 21 top manufacturers and 10 industry innovators at 16 locations from the Gold Coast to Cairns.
Participants will have the opportunity to tour cutting-edge facilities and witness advanced manufacturing processes firsthand.
All Industries Group, located in Rockhampton, will be a highlight of the event. The company will open its heavy industry fabrication and machining workshop, demonstrating how a significant technology overhaul has transformed its operations.
This transformation, including the installation of a $312,000 flat steel drilling and profile machine, led to the creation of five new jobs.
“All Industries Group is a prime example of a manufacturer taking advantage of Government support to elevate their business,” stated Brittany Lauga, Member for Keppel.
“We’ve built back a manufacturing industry in Queensland that was in decline under the LNP. Manufacturers in Queensland simply can’t trust the LNP to provide the support they need.”
Students will also have the chance to explore careers in manufacturing through nearly 40 exclusive school-only tours, aimed at inspiring the next generation of industry professionals.
“The Miles Government delivers support to manufacturers in every region of this state and it’s fantastic to see many of these businesses opening their doors to help others understand how they too can transform their business through advanced manufacturing,” added Butcher.
Member for Rockhampton, Barry O’Rourke, expressed enthusiasm about the event, stating, “I’m looking forward to Central Queensland manufacturers demonstrating their incredible capabilities during Manufacturing Month! Only Labor can be trusted to deliver jobs and support for manufacturers.”
All Industries Group’s Co-Director, Trent Miles, expressed pride in participating in the event: “We’ve done a lot to invest in and adopt the use of advanced manufacturing technologies and methods, and we’re excited to share how this work is helping to drive greater success for our business now and into the future.”
