Electric vehicle manufacturer SEA Electric has tapped Marco Quaranta, a seasoned professional in the transportation sector, as the new Sales Director for Asia Pacific, effective today, 3 July.
Quaranta offers 35 years of expertise from past roles at IVECO, with stints in Australia, Korea, Thailand, Hong Kong, and his native Italy, the company revealed in a news release.
Over the past 17 years, Quaranta has held a number of positions at IVECO Australia, including National Product & Marketing Manager, Branch Manager, and National Sales Manager.
He has also served as the Institutional Relations and Alternative Propulsions Manager.
“We are honoured to have Marco joining the team here at SEA Electric, he brings to the company a wealth of knowledge with a complete transport industry skillset,” said Daniel Castro, SEA Electric President – Asia Pacific.
Castro underscored that Quaranta knows the business inside and out, from sales and marketing to network expansion, and product and branch management.
He added, “Marco’s expertise and achievements range from successfully opening new markets to analysing market demand and developing the corresponding product offering, plus leading sales and marketing teams to growth and profitability.”
Meanwhile, Quaranta said that the prospect of working for SEA Electric excites him.
“It’s clear that the transport industry is moving towards sustainable technologies, with SEA Electric’s solutions proven in the field to be adaptable to practically any situation,” he said.
Quaranta stated that after more than a decade of development, the company now provides the best-performing, most cost-effective, and energy-efficient all-electric system on the market, as acknowledged and adopted by key OEMs worldwide.

The SEA Electric line of zero-emissions trucks is offered countrywide and comes in a variety of specifications, ranging from 4.5t car licence models to 22.5t three-axle rigid configurations, all of which are produced at the company’s Melbourne headquarters.
SEA-DAS, the SEA Driver Assistance System, was recently announced at the Brisbane Truck Show as a significant update to the vehicle’s specifications.
Vehicle Stability Control, Automatic Emergency Braking, Pedestrian Detection, Lane Departure Warning, Traction Control, an Anti-lock Braking System (ABS), and dual airbags are all standard features.
At the occasion, the SEA 45e, SEA 85e, SEA 140e, SEA 160e, and SEA 225e all-electric truck range underwent a naming convention makeover to bring the models in line with global SEA Electric products, with the SEA 45e, SEA 85e, SEA 140e, SEA 160e, and SEA 225e able to be configured in a wide range of specifications for numerous end applications.
