Fertilizer and explosives maker Incitec Pivot has announced a restructuring of its global manufacturing operations.
According to Incitec Pivot’s media release via the Australian Securities Exchange, effective October 1, 2013, global manufacturing will be split into two functions: a strategic & technical function which will oversee engineering and project management, and the operational function which will be in charge of the daily operations of the company’s plants. Both functions will be reporting to the Managing Director and CEO.
Mr. James Fazzino, Managing Director and CEO says the restructuring will allow them to leverage the technical expertise they have across the Group and will provide the rigor and focus essential to achieving manufacturing excellence in all of their sites.
Aside from the restructuring, the company also announced the retirement of Mr. Bernard Walsh from his role as President of Global Manufacturing, as part of the changes in the company, effective October 1.
On this date Mr. Alan Grace will assume his new position as President of Strategic Engineering. Mr. Grace joined the company in 2000 and has 30 years of experience in constructing and operating chemical processing plants. Prior to this appointment he was the Project Director for the Feasibility Study and early stage construction of the company’s ammonia plant in Louisiana, USA.
Incitec Pivot operates over 15 major chemical plants across Australia, the Americas and Europe and is in the process of constructing the 800,000 tonne ammonia plant in the US.
