Businesses in Greater Geelong and the surrounding region will have the opportunity to engage with representatives from major projects at the upcoming ICN Victoria Greater Geelong Showcase 2025.
Hosted by ICN Victoria in partnership with Regional Development Victoria, the event aims to connect local suppliers with bidders and awarded contractors involved in key regional projects.
Greater Geelong, one of Victoria’s fastest-growing regional cities, is expected to see its population reach nearly 442,000 by 2046, ICN said in a news release.
The region is home to over 100 major construction and infrastructure projects valued at more than $10 million, spanning various stages from proposal to construction.
The showcase will provide businesses with insights into these developments and offer networking opportunities with industry stakeholders.
The event will feature presentations from industry leaders and project representatives seeking local suppliers.
Attendees will receive updates on current and future procurement opportunities, network with decision-makers, and gain insights on positioning their businesses for success in securing major contracts.
Additionally, regional industry bodies will be present to provide guidance and support for businesses aiming to navigate the procurement process.
ICN Victoria CEO Nick Foa highlighted the significance of the showcase in fostering local business growth and economic development.
“With Greater Geelong set for significant development, now is the time for businesses to engage and position themselves for success. This event will bring local suppliers together with project representatives, ensuring they have access to the latest information and opportunities.”
“By leveraging programs like Local Jobs First, local suppliers can maximise their involvement in major projects, creating jobs and driving economic growth within the region. ICN Victoria is committed to supporting local businesses and helping them navigate the procurement process to secure these valuable opportunities,” he said.
Regional Development Victoria CEO Xavier Csar also underscored the importance of the event in facilitating local supplier participation in key infrastructure projects.
“As Victoria’s dedicated agency responsible for helping grow and strengthen our regional economies, Regional Development Victoria plays a critical function across regional Victoria as a front door for business. This showcase is a perfect example of our partnership approach to deliver our commitment to create jobs, deliver vital infrastructure and enable transformative investment,” he said.
The ICN Victoria Greater Geelong Showcase will take place at GMHBA Stadium, Kardinia Park, on Tuesday, 1 April 2025, from 3:30 pm to 6:00 pm, with formal proceedings commencing at 4:00 pm.
Local businesses are encouraged to register for the event to explore opportunities, connect with key decision-makers, and enhance their chances of securing work on major projects.
