The House Standing Committee on Industry, Science, and Resources is seeking stakeholders’ opinions on accelerating Australia’s advanced manufacturing industry in its recently published inquiry.
The Inquiry into Developing Advanced Manufacturing Australia seeks to boost the sector in order to create new jobs and revive the country’s ability to make cutting-edge products locally.
Committee Chair Rob Mitchell MP said the initiative is crucial in developing strategic growth for the sector.
“We need to ensure that we are well-positioned as a nation to take advantage of new technologies and that our strategic decisions are informed by the right data. Continuing to grow the relationship between industry and our research sector is also vital,” Mitchell said.
The inquiry will solicit feedback from stakeholders across industries, including Australia’s tertiary sector and government, in order to ensure reliable growth within Australia’s manufacturing sector.
The House Standing Committee on Industry, Science and Resources is slated to accept submissions to the inquiry until 30 March.
