The Western Australian Government is continuing its support for the state’s food and beverage manufacturing sector with a new funding initiative worth $500,000.
The government’s commitment to fostering growth in this sector is demonstrated by the introduction of Agrifood and Beverage Vouchers, each worth up to $20,000, available to small and medium-sized businesses across Western Australia.
Agriculture and Food Minister Jackie Jarvis highlighted the program’s significance, stating, “The Agrifood and Beverage Voucher Program is a real success story, lifting up WA agrifood and beverage businesses to achieve their goals and capture enduring benefits to local communities and the economy.”
The vouchers can be used across five key areas: business planning, manufacturing for business growth, sales and marketing, financial health, and environmental sustainability and social responsibility.
This flexibility allows business owners to tailor the support to their specific needs, driving improvements and innovations.
Since the program’s inception in 2018, it has issued 355 vouchers valued at $1.9 million, providing WA businesses with access to professional expertise to identify opportunities, overcome challenges, and realise their potential.
The program has also successfully leveraged over $2.7 million in industry investment through co-contributions.
Minister Jarvis concluded, “Over the past six years, this program has been instrumental in helping businesses not only survive but thrive, contributing significantly to the economic fabric of Western Australia.”
