GMC members named finalists in 2024 Victorian Manufacturing Hall of Fame Awards

Four distinguished members of the Geelong Manufacturing Council (GMC) have been recognised as finalists in the highly esteemed 2024 Victorian Manufacturing Hall of Fame Awards. 

This accolade underscores the exceptional strength and innovation within the Geelong region’s manufacturing sector, the council said in a news release.

Farm Foods Australia, located in Breakwater, has been lauded for its dedication to quality and innovation in food processing. 

Specialising in premium value-added meat products, the company has set a high bar for excellence in the food manufacturing industry, impacting the local economy and contributing to job creation.

Godfrey Hirst Australia, with operations spanning North Geelong, South Geelong, and Breakwater, has been recognised for its longstanding contributions to the textile industry. 

As one of Australia’s leading carpet manufacturers, Godfrey Hirst combines traditional craftsmanship with modern technology to deliver high-quality flooring solutions. 

The company’s emphasis on sustainability and product innovation has kept it at the forefront of the industry.

Hanlon Industries, based in Corio, has also earned a finalist spot. Renowned for its steel fabrication, project management, and engineering services, Hanlon Industries has become a pivotal player in Victoria’s industrial sector. 

New GMC member Integra Systems, operating out of Broadmeadows, completes the list of finalists. 

Specialising in advanced manufacturing and metal fabrication, Integra Systems is recognised for its cutting-edge solutions and its dedication to nurturing local talent through apprenticeships and training programs.

The recognition of these companies highlights the crucial role of manufacturing in the Geelong region, demonstrating the sector’s innovation, resilience, and substantial contributions to Victoria’s economy. 

The winners of the 2024 Victorian Manufacturing Hall of Fame Awards will be announced during a gala dinner on 9 October, celebrating the accomplishments of Victoria’s premier manufacturing enterprises.
