ASX-listed Electro Optic Systems has received a $28 million purchase order for R600 Remote Weapon System (RWS) unit spares from a Southeast Asian customer.
Deliveries are slated to begin in late 2024 and continue into 2025 and 2026.
The R600 RWS delivers a flexible dual-weapon configuration that allows operators to choose various weapon options that best suit their mission requirements.
In an ASX announcement, EOS said the R600 product is a long-standing offering that was initially developed for a customer in Southeast Asia and has benefitted from continued innovation and development.
The R600 RWS product incorporates EOS’ advanced pointing and tracking technology, including first-round hit probability, as the sophisticated ballistic solution takes into account a world-leading range of variable factors including weapons, ammunition, range, atmospheric environment, vehicle attitude, target motion, and other factors.
The sale was aligned with EOS’s strategic initiatives aimed at widening the product base, customer base, and manufacturing base of the group.
The products to be supplied under the product will be manufactured at EOS facilities in the United States.
EOS’ operations are comprised of two divisions: Defence Systems and Space Systems.
Defence Systems focuses on technology for weapon systems optimisation and integration, as well as Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance, and C4 systems for land warfare.
Its key products include next-generation remote weapon systems, vehicle turrets, high-energy laser weapons, and fully integrated and modular counter-UAS and C4 systems.
Meanwhile, Space Systems includes all EOS space and communications businesses, operating as two entities – Space Technologies and EM Solutions.
