SodaStream Australia has marked Earth Day by launching a new environmentally focused product and announcing a shift to renewable energy at its Melbourne operations.
The company unveiled the Recycled Black TERRA, a sparkling water maker featuring an outer shell made from 50 per cent post-industrial recycled plastic.
According to the company, the product is designed to offer a sustainable alternative to single-use plastic bottles, in line with SodaStream’s ongoing environmental objectives.
The model builds on the existing TERRA line, combining familiar features with a recycled design intended to appeal to environmentally conscious consumers.
SodaStream estimates that the use of one of its devices can replace more than 1,000 single-use plastic bottles over a five-year period, based on average consumer use.
In addition to the product launch, SodaStream announced that its Melbourne headquarters and warehouse are now powered entirely by green energy, following the installation of solar panels.
The company said the transition is part of broader efforts to reduce its carbon footprint and increase the energy efficiency of its operations.
“We are incredibly proud to be taking these significant steps towards a greener future,” said Holly Walker, Marketing Manager at SodaStream Australia.
“By integrating recycled materials into our products and now powering our headquarters with green energy, we’re not only contributing to a circular economy but also demonstrating that sustainability and innovation can go hand-in-hand.”
The Recycled Black TERRA is now available for purchase online at sodastream.com.au and in-store at Big W, Harvey Norman, and selected independent retailers. The recommended retail price is $119.
SodaStream Australia stated that the new initiatives are part of its broader strategy to reduce environmental impact, which includes efforts to lower emissions across its production and operational processes.
