Counter-UAS solutions manufacturer DroneShield has received a record $33 million order from a U.S. government agency to supply equipment as well as multi-year services.
Matt McCrann, CEO of DroneShield in the United States, expressed his delight at receiving this award and assisting this client.
“This award is a result of their trust in DroneShield and our solutions, and reflects our commitment to their mission,” he said.
McCrann added, “We’re proud of our team’s efforts, the increasing value we’ve delivered to our customers worldwide.”
The DroneShield official emphasised that the team is looking forward to continuing to support and expand the business from 2024 onwards.
The ASX-listed company predicts this year to be another record year, by a significant percentage, following the previous record year in 2022, and anticipates receiving complete payment of the order by the end of 2023.
This most recent purchase comes after a $9.9 million purchase from a different member of the Five Eyes community that was revealed earlier this month.
The backlog of committed orders now being fulfilled by DroneShield is at a record $62 million, and the company currently has over $200 million in potential in its pipeline.
To date, DroneShield reported that significant work has been done in scaling up manufacturing, operations, and inventory to handle additional projected orders for the balance of 2023.
DroneShield said it is currently finalising the location of a larger industrial facility to relocate its Sydney operations in order to accommodate future growth.
Following a robust $7 million cash receipts 1Q23 quarter, DroneShield said it is on track for an all-time record 2Q23 quarter and a record year for cash receipts in 2023.
In a previous press release, the company said continuous record demand for counterdrone / C-UAS systems is fueled by events in Ukraine and rising defence and security budgets worldwide.
