Smart building materials company ClearVue Technologies Limited has clinched its first US commercial order for clear solar glass solutions for greenhouses, valued at $250,000.

The order has been placed by Greenhouse System USA Inc, a well-established leader in greenhouse solutions based in Watsonville, California, the ASX-listed company said in a press release.

System USA, with over 42 years of experience in providing green housing solutions in the US and Canada, will integrate ClearVue’s single-glazing laminate into its existing greenhouse structure.

This integration is expected to yield approximately 82 kW of solar power and produce an estimated 107,000 kWh per year.

This clean, renewable power project will be eligible for incentives created by the Inflation Reduction Act, lowering annual operating costs and reducing the facility’s carbon footprint.

ClearVue’s innovative single glazing laminate, developed in collaboration with research partner D2Solar in California since 2021, is a key component in this exciting project.

The collaboration represents a significant leap forward in sustainable agriculture and renewable energy solutions.

Martin Deil, the Global CEO of ClearVue Technologies, expressed that greenhouses had always been an integral part of their strategy since they recognised the increasing global demand for renewable energy solutions in sustainable agriculture.

“Importantly, this new order validates our strategy for targeting the US protected cropping agriculture market and opens an opportunity in global solar greenhouse glass currently worth US$7.5 billion per year and growing,” Deil noted.

He added, “We are thrilled the partnership is with System USA, a company setting the modern global standard for excellence in efficient greenhouse facilities. We look forward to an ongoing relationship with System USA as we progress discussions for them to become our US-based distributor.”

Peter Fryn, President of System USA, expressed his enthusiasm for their first project involving ClearVuePV greenhouses. Following a thorough evaluation of the technology, he noted their strong satisfaction with recent advancements that have made it exceptionally attractive.

“System USA is committed to a partnership with ClearVue and to that end, the parties are in the process of finalising negotiations for a distribution agreement to give System USA the rights to distribute the ClearVue product for greenhouse applications in California and other US states,” Fryn stated.

“We look forward to a long and fruitful relationship together with this first sale representing our first steps in our journey,” he concluded.

This agreement marks a significant step in ClearVue’s mission to revolutionize sustainable agriculture and contribute to a cleaner, greener future.

The company’s expansion into the US market follows several significant milestones, including the co-development agreement for single-glazing and double-glazed Insulated Glass Units (IGUs) with D2Solar, the successful demonstration of mass-scale manufacturing, and ClearVue’s inclusion of greenhouse solutions as one of its priorities to achieve short and long-term revenue growth.
