UGL today announced it will partner with Penske Australia to tender for a major upcoming Australian Defence Force maintenance contract.
UGL, a member of the CIMIC Group, is a leading Australian services company with a rich history of supporting the Australian Defence Force.
UGL has agreed to a teaming arrangement with Penske, a leading provider of on- and off-highway heavy-duty vehicles and power systems, including supply and maintenance. Penske has an extensive national footprint and is a trusted partner to Defence across a range of propulsion system, power generation and vehicle solutions.
UGL will tender for the delivery of maintenance management and support services, including national vehicle recovery for nominated Defence fleet equipment across Australia.
UGL Managing Director Doug Moss said: “We have enjoyed a strong relationship with Penske over a number of years. Their expertise and footprint across Australia complement our own, where we have more than 7,000 employees spread across our regions and cities providing services which keep Australia moving. We look forward to working with Penske on this critical Defence fleet maintenance program.”
Penske Australia Managing Director Hamish Christie-Johnston said: “We have partnered previously with UGL in several segments across our business, and it is a logical step to extend our relationship by teaming up with them on this important contract. We already support Defence across a broad range of platforms on land and at sea, and we look forward to expanding this support in partnership with UGL. Our more than 1,100 employees will lend weight and expertise to the UGL bid.”
UGL will submit its bid for the Defence contract later this year, with contract award expected in mid-2023.
