IDD Tech, CIMIC Group’s software development company, and Torrens University Australia have established a research and innovation partnership that will combine IDD Tech’s proficiency in integrated digital delivery software solutions with the university’s entrepreneurial research and innovation leaders.
In a media release, CIMIC said the collaboration would create opportunities for academics, PhD aspirants, and professionals from the business world to exchange expertise and work together on initiatives including applied research.
The partnership, according to CIMIC Group’s Executive Chairman Juan Santamaria, stimulates the interchange of ideas and talents and supports innovations from their research and development phases into implementation.
“Our shared priorities include developing our people, and using data and technologies to design, build and operate better,” Santamaria said.
He added that the company is focused on digital solutions that safely improve productivity and achieve better ESG outcomes for our communities.
Meanwhile, Vice Chancellor Professor Alwyn Louw of Torrens University in Australia stated that the structure of the cooperation strengthens research and development, bringing together academic perspectives and industrial know-how.
He said, “Knowledge sharing, mentoring and collaboration enable initiatives to accurately target the infrastructure sector’s current and future requirements.”
“With access to major projects for testing and trials, we can fast-track practical solutions for advancing sustainability,” Louw added.
The partnership’s four areas of collaboration in particular include creating knowledge, establishment of an innovation network, workforce training, and knowledge exchange.
IDD Tech’s initial proprietary products, which are ISO 27001 certified, were created in-house and tested on several significant projects.
A wholly owned subsidiary of CIMIC Group, IDD Tech develops Integrated Digital Delivery (IDD) software solutions for the infrastructure, resources, and services sectors.
CIMIC Group is an engineering-led construction, mining, services and public-private partnerships leader working across the lifecycle of assets, infrastructure and resources projects.
