Brickworks and Mud Australia have introduced a limited-edition paving product called Forma, combining recycled materials with local craftsmanship and design-focused production.

The Forma paver, measuring 400mm x 400mm, integrates 15 per cent reclaimed ceramic waste from Mud Australia’s manufacturing process, Brickworks said in a news release.

By incorporating offcuts and imperfect ceramic pieces into the concrete mix, the companies aim to offer a sustainable alternative in the architectural surface market. The paver is then honed to reveal a refined finish similar to terrazzo.

Brickworks described the initiative as an extension of its sustainability-driven portfolio. Brett Ward, General Manager of Marketing at Brickworks, said the project aligned closely with the values of both companies.

“Great design is about innovation, longevity, and a respect for materials,” Ward said. “Brickworks has a strong sustainability ethos, and with Forma, we are pushing the boundaries of how discarded materials can be reimagined.”

He added that the partnership was built on shared principles of local manufacturing, craftsmanship, and precision in production.

Mud Australia founder Shelley Simpson also noted the brand’s longstanding focus on durability and thoughtful design.

“With Forma, we take that philosophy a step further, turning imperfection into innovation,” Simpson said.

The paver is manufactured in New South Wales and features a colour palette inspired by Mud Australia’s signature tones.

According to the companies, the product is aimed at architects, designers, and homeowners seeking sustainable and design-led paving solutions.
