Australia’s leading food industry expo marks 40th anniversary in Melbourne

Marking its 40th anniversary as Australia’s premier food industry expo, Fine Food Australia is poised to educate the culinary sector from September 2-5, 2024, at the Melbourne Convention & Exhibition Centre.

This milestone edition will feature over 850 exhibitors from Australia and around the world, showcasing the latest products, technologies, and services across the food service, hospitality, catering, bakery, and retail sectors.

Attendees will have the opportunity to explore the newest trends and gain invaluable insights from a series of presentations by industry leaders, organisers said in a news release.

One of the main highlights will be the Talking Tech stage, which will delve into the latest technological advancements transforming food service and hospitality.

A highlight for 2024 is Belinda Clarke from Food Coaches, who will discuss enhancing business performance and profitability through strategic technology use.

Supported by Food Industry Foresight and sponsored by Profitability Partners, the Talking Trends stage will provide an in-depth look at consumer behaviour shifts and innovations, with Rod Fowler headlining this stage with a keynote on the global rise of Foodservice Robotics.

Patisserie enthusiasts should not miss the Mayers Innovation in Patisserie stage, where masterclasses and demonstrations by Australia’s leading bakers and pastry chefs will take place.

Andre Sandison will demonstrate the versatility of La Rose Noire, showcasing solutions that meet diverse dietary and cultural demands.

Hosted by Straight To The Source, The Source Kitchen will connect attendees with the origins of Australian produce through tastings, demonstrations, and discussions with farmers and artisans.

Highlights include a panel on sustainable practices and the exciting “Battle of the Sanga!” sandwich competition featuring top Melbourne venues.

The Bake Skills Australia showcase will include Mayers Callebaut Chocolate with Pascal Janvier and Versatile Castilla with EOI Peerless Foods, featuring the National Pastry Chef Championship and Baking Championships.

The ACF Culinary Challenge will see chefs and apprentices compete in various contests, pushing their skills to the limit under time pressure.

The Nestlé Golden Chef’s Hat Award offers young talents the chance to demonstrate their skills in live cook-offs judged to international standards.

Additionally, the Official Great Aussie Pie Competition will feature categories such as the Greatest Meat Pie and Gourmet Sausage Roll, highlighting the skill and creativity behind Australia’s iconic pastries.

To commemorate four decades of innovation, Fine Food Australia will host a special 40th Anniversary Celebration.

This ticketed event will reflect on past achievements and future aspirations, offering an evening of celebration and inspiration for the food service and hospitality industry.
