A burgeoning global supply chain was the focus of Australian warehousing, intralogistics, and transport industries gathered at CeMAT Australia 2024 last week in Melbourne.
The event saw extensive discussions on technological advancements, with a spotlight on analytics, supply chain management, cyber resilience, artificial intelligence, and robotic picking.
Industry leaders emphasised the importance of upskilling staff for the automation age, ensuring that the workforce is prepared for the rapid technological shifts.
Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) principles were a key focus, as industries strive to comply with regulations while embedding these principles into their strategies.
Leaders shared insights on reducing carbon footprints and effectively measuring, reporting, and improving operational emissions.
Congratulations were in order for Victoria’s Andrew Galea from Krost Furniture, who was named the 2024 Australian Forklift Champion, highlighting the event’s celebration of industry excellence.
The 2024 conference program featured over 55 speakers and an exhibition with over 150 exhibitors covering 4000m², marking the largest CeMAT Australia to date.
Mike Nissen, commercial director of Hannover Fairs Australia, the event’s organiser, spoke about its continued growth and new developments for 2025.
“Starting out as a bi-annual event, the need to bring these industries together for important reflection, discussions, and planning has seen it evolve into an annual necessity, particularly with such rapid advances in technology within the sector.”
“This show was the largest and most successful yet, and we look forward to continuing that growth in 2025 with our recently announced partnership with the Australian Packaging and Processing Machinery Association (APPMA),” said Nissen.
CeMAT Australia 2025 will introduce the all-new Processing & Packaging Pavilion, powered by APPMA, within the co-located event Industrial Transformation Australia, a HANNOVER MESSE event.
This pavilion will feature leading manufacturers, distributors, and importers of packing and processing machinery from various sectors, including food, beverage, pharma, e-commerce, chemicals, and other manufacturing industries.
With this addition, CeMAT aims to cater to the full supply chain, providing greater opportunities for industry professionals to connect, influence, and enhance their success, ultimately bringing greater returns to the Australian economy.
The Australian manufacturing, warehousing, intralogistics, and transport industries are invited to attend CeMAT Australia 2025 and Industrial Transformation Australia 2025 in Sydney at The Dome, Sydney Olympic Park, from Tuesday 22 to Thursday 24 July 2025.
Exhibition bookings for CeMAT Australia 2025, Industrial Transformation Australia 2025, and the Processing & Packaging Pavilion – powered by APPMA 2025, are now open.
