Ampcontrol has finalised the acquisition of Protech Power, a high voltage service and maintenance provider, in a move that bolsters its capabilities and expands its presence across Queensland.
The acquisition aligns with Ampcontrol’s strategic vision to lead the global energy revolution through innovation and growth, as revealed in a media release.
Protech Power, with facilities in Brisbane and Townsville, has a strong presence in Queensland’s mining, power generation, infrastructure, and agricultural sectors.
Rod Henderson, managing director and CEO of Ampcontrol, described the acquisition as a significant milestone.
“The acquisition of Protech Power is an exciting step forward as we combine our expertise and resources to deliver greater value and service to our customers and expand our geographical footprint and Ampcontrol offerings across Queensland,” he noted.
Under the deal, Protech Power will operate under the Ampcontrol name.
“With a strong reputation within the industry and focus on building and maintaining long-term customer relationships, we’re looking forward to continue working alongside these customers and welcome them to Ampcontrol,” Henderson added.
The acquisition includes the addition of Protech Power’s workforce of more than 25 employees with expertise in high voltage systems, electrical engineering, testing, and commissioning.
The business sale agreement was signed on 11 November 2024, with the official transfer of ownership completed on 11 December 2024.
All Protech Power employees will remain with the business, and its product and service offerings will be integrated into Ampcontrol’s portfolio.
