BioPak has launched its ‘Give Back Friday’ initiative, combining Black Friday discounts with charitable donations to support environmental conservation.

The campaign, which will be available to the public on 29 November, will offer more than 50 per cent off BioPak’s Black Paper BioStraws, with $12.50 from each carton sold being donated to Rainforest Rescue, a not-for-profit organisation dedicated to protecting and restoring rainforests.

BioPak CEO Gary Smith highlighted the importance of giving back to the community and emphasised the potential for other businesses to match or exceed BioPak’s donation.

“This new campaign offers a great opportunity to not only provide a fantastic discount to our customers, but a chance to really make a difference to Rainforest Rescue, a charity that is doing amazing things for our planet and future generations,” Smith said.

He encouraged businesses to support the initiative by matching or exceeding the $12.50 donation per carton, which funds the planting and maintenance of native trees in rainforest areas.

Rainforest Rescue CEO Branden Barber expressed pride in the partnership with BioPak and welcomed the campaign as an example of how Black Friday sales can serve a greater purpose.

“We are incredibly proud to work with our long-standing partners, BioPak, in what is a unique twist to the current Black Friday Sales. Our impact and work are not possible without the generous support of businesses, truthfully,” Barber stated.

He added that such partnerships are vital to the organization’s growth and success in protecting and restoring rainforests.

The Black Paper BioStraws offered in the sale are recognized for their durability, made from 4-ply FSC Mix Certified Paper, and are fully home compostable to European Standards.

Each straw is individually wrapped and packaged in a shelf-ready box with an inbuilt dispenser. BioPak’s Give Back Friday sale will run through 27 December, with a goal to plant up to 1,600 trees.

The maximum donation target is set at AUD 20,000, with funds raised directly supporting the work of Rainforest Rescue.

BioPak’s Black BioStraws are available for purchase through the company’s website
