Elkem, a leader in advanced material solutions, will introduce a new generation of silicone solutions for additive manufacturing and 3D printing at the upcoming Formnext show in Frankfurt, Germany, from 19 to 22 November 2024.
The company is expanding its AMSil and AMSil Silbione silicone product lines, following the successful launch of these brands, which received the R&D 100 Award in 2021.
The new AMSil 20503 and AMSil Silbione 24503 formulations feature longer shelf life and improved handling, with potential applications in both restricted and unrestricted medical fields.
These products will be available in a range of Shore A hardness from ShA 10 to ShA 70 and retain the properties of 100 per cent silicones suitable for Liquid Deposit Molding (LDM) systems.
Elkem will also present the AMSil 92102, a new addition to its support material series.
This water-soluble paste enhances printability and surface finish and is designed to work alongside the existing AMSil and AMSil Silbione ranges.
According to the company, the introduction of these products underscores Elkem’s commitment to advancing additive manufacturing and exploring its potential for sustainable economic practices.
The company aims to scale Additive Manufacturing to industrial levels, promoting solutions that minimize waste and reduce transportation and storage costs.
