Clipsal by Schneider Electric has unveiled its latest innovation, the Solis range of light switches and sockets, which aims to set a new standard in the electrical category, catering to high-end residential projects across Australia.

In a news release, the company said the Solis range is a product of Schneider Electric’s leading research and development.

The design, led by Jim Hannon-Tan and the Asia Pacific Design Lab team, features asymmetry, drawing inspiration from concepts like the ‘golden rectangle’ and geometric shapes.

“Clipsal has stood side-by-side with Aussie sparkies and homes, delivering world-leading electrical innovations for over 100 years. The Solis range is no exception. Using an industrial ceramic, the new designs are tougher, and resistant to dirt, fingerprints, and scratches for an optimal experience,” said Chris Kerr, CEO of Clipsal by Schneider Electric.

Kerr emphasised that the Solis range was developed to meet the needs of high-end projects, while also satisfying the technical requirements of electricians and the aesthetic desires of homeowners.

“Power points and light switches may sit in a wall for up to 30 years, so it’s important that they are built to withstand Australian conditions with design themes that are consistent across decades,” he added.

The Solis range is available in two series: the standard Solis series, which offers switches and sockets in a fine matte black or white finish, and the Solis T series, which pushes design boundaries with options like brushed brass, anodised aluminium, and white ceramic.

Designed in consultation with interior designers, architects, electricians, and homeowners, the Solis range addresses common challenges faced in the industry.

“The new range has been created with architects and designers in mind, providing them with an electrical product as carefully considered as their commissioned works. Solis might be a small part of their overall design, but it brings an important level of quality and attention to detail to residential projects,” Kerr explained.

The Solis range is available Australia-wide from spring, through electricians and Clipsal’s authorised wholesalers.
