South Australia-based advanced lighting technology firm VAILO has clinched a position in the AFR BOSS Best Places to Work list for 2024, securing the seventh spot nationally in the Manufacturing & Consumer Goods category.

The AFR BOSS Best Places to Work awards spotlight organisations at the forefront of innovative workplace policies and practices, the company said in a media release.

In a competitive field of 600 contenders, VAILO said it stood out for its commitment to redefining the work environment.

Over the past year, VAILO has extended its footprint into Queensland, intensifying its focus on the eastern states, with additional appointments on the horizon.

Expressing his pride, VAILO CEO and Founder Aaron Hickmann underscored the significance of cultivating a supportive workplace culture.

“If you can create a great working environment, where people are valued and their ideas are celebrated, you’re more likely to be innovative, progressive and stay at the forefront of your industry,” Hickmann said.

He continued, “We’re continuing to produce market leading lighting that’s transforming the sporting landscape, as well as providing screens at sporting and large-scale events, and we can thank our team for their dedication and commitment to their work.”

Meanwhile, Penelope Bettison stated, “As a scale-up company, we recognise the value of positive team dynamics, individual drivers, and benefits of healthy, respectful relationships in the workplace.”

She added, “We all contribute daily to our culture and it grows as new people join. The feedback from our team about our culture is incredibly rewarding and testament to our commitment to our people.”

As part of its expansion strategy, VAILO said it is actively recruiting for various roles across New South Wales, Queensland, South Australia, Victoria, and Western Australia.
