Stratasys is ushering in a new era of precision and detail in additive manufacturing with the introduction of its cutting-edge HighDef Printing capabilities and the debut of the H350 Version 1.5 (V.1.5) printer.

This move aims to broaden the adoption of Selective Absorption Fusion (SAF) technology across various manufacturing sectors by offering enhanced functionality and expanded application possibilities, the company said in a media release.

Stratasys said it has developed new HighDef Printing technology aimed at providing precision and intricate detailing during the printing process.

This advancement allows manufacturers to enhance repeatability and scalability while enabling the fabrication of more intricate components.

Industries such as aerospace, automotive, and healthcare stand to benefit significantly, as they can now produce components with smoother, more precise features, including gears and mechanisms.

Adam Ellis, corporate applications manager at Stratasys, emphasised the transformative impact of HighDef Printing.

“High-definition printing enables tighter tolerances, moving assemblies and a new range of applications for SAF customers,” he noted.

Ellis added, “Bringing HighDef to our customers will help us expand and improve their capabilities and increase their adoption of 3D printing in manufacturing roles.”

According to the company, the integration of HighDef Printing into Stratasys’s SAF lineup will be seamless for existing users, as it will be delivered through a firmware update at no additional cost.

This ensures that customers with previous H350 models can immediately take advantage of the enhanced capabilities without any disruption to their operations.

In tandem with the introduction of HighDef Printing, Stratasys is unveiling the H350 V1.5 printer, featuring upgraded sensors and remote service capabilities for improved ease of operation and maintenance.

This latest iteration of the H350 is equipped with the new HighDef Printing firmware, further enhancing its performance and versatility.

Torben Lange, vice president of SAF Research & Development at Stratasys, underscored the alignment of these innovations with the evolving needs of customers.

“The new capabilities and the upgraded H350 align with the performance needs that our customers indicated to us, that will allow them to further benefit from additive manufacturing and SAF technology in particular,” he remarked.

Lange concluded, “New applications and use cases will allow manufacturers to scale their production, with more intricate parts, without compromising speed or quality.”
