Expressions of interest are currently being sought from qualified and experienced organisations to undertake the implementation and management of the GreenTech Hub, a $40 million collaboration between the Western Australian Government and Chevron Australia.

Over a span of four years, the GreenTech Hub will function as a central hub dedicated to expediting the development and adoption of green technologies and services throughout Western Australia.

This initiative will encompass comprehensive programs, incubation, acceleration, and the cultivation of innovative greentech ideas, the government said in a news release.

As the fifth innovation hub supported by the State Government through the Department of Jobs, Tourism, Science, and Innovation, the GreenTech Hub aims to drive sustainable practices in the region.

Moreover, the hub seeks to foster collaboration, partnerships, and projects involving industry stakeholders, researchers, and government entities, all geared towards driving the decarbonisation agenda in WA.

The hub will also play a pivotal role in supporting and nurturing both emerging and established green technology businesses, emphasising their success through innovations at the intersection of new technology and business processes, both in local and global markets.

Another significant focus is on attracting investments to the state that actively contribute to the research, development, and commercialisation of green technologies and services.

The announcement comes with the introduction of the Lower Carbon Grants Program – Gorgon Fund designed to financially back major innovative projects that contribute to the decarbonisation of the economy.

This fund is part of a broader agreement led by Chevron, the operator of the Gorgon Project, and is financed by the Gorgon Joint Venture.

The collaboration aligns with the shared commitment to support the WA Government’s ambitious target of achieving net-zero greenhouse gas emissions by the year 2050.

For additional details or to submit an expression of interest, interested parties can visit the dedicated GreenTech Hub page.
