Incitec Pivot Limited announced today that Brian Kruger has resigned from his position as IPL Chairman and non-executive director, effective immediately, citing personal reasons.
The Board has appointed Greg Robinson, a current non-executive director, to succeed Kruger, the company said in an ASX announcement.
Kruger, who has been a director of IPL since June 2017 and served as chairman since July 2019, played a pivotal role in steering the company through the challenges posed by the COVID-19 pandemic and evolving geopolitical dynamics.
Notable achievements during his tenure include the strategic separation of IPL’s two industry-leading businesses, the sale of the Waggaman ammonia manufacturing facility in the US, successful partnerships, and advancements in decarbonization.
In a statement, Kruger expressed gratitude for the privilege of serving as Chairman and working with a high-quality Board and talented teams across Dyno Nobel and Incitec Pivot Fertilisers.
“I would like to thank my Board colleagues for their support and in understanding my decision to step down. Thank you also to IPL’s Interim CEO Paul Victor, the executive leadership team and the IPL people, for the work you do for our customers and shareholders,” Kruger remarked.
Greg Robinson, a non-executive director since November 2019, will succeed Kruger. Robinson brings extensive experience in the resources and finance industries, with a background that includes senior executive roles at Newcrest Mining, BHP, Lattice Energy, and Merrill Lynch spanning over 30 years.
He currently serves as chairman of the Remuneration Committee and is a member of the Audit and Risk Management Committee and the Nominations Committee.
Acknowledging Kruger’s outstanding leadership, Robinson expressed gratitude on behalf of the Board, leadership team, and IPL employees.
“Brian’s leadership and service to the Board and Company has been outstanding in guiding the businesses through some challenging times. The Company’s achievements during Brian’s tenure as Chairman are testament to a sustained commitment to the future of IPL,” Robinson noted.
In addition to the leadership transition, IPL announced that George Biltz, a non-executive director, will not seek re-election at the next Annual General Meeting and will retire from the IPL Board after the conclusion of IPL’s 2023 Annual General Meeting on 20 December 2023.
“Together with the rest of the Board, I would like to thank George for his significant contribution to the Board and as a member of the Health, Safety, Environment and Community Committee since his appointment in December 2020. We wish George well in his future endeavours,” Robinson concluded.
